Meaning of "PEACE" (shalom) using only the bible (torah)
What is the meaning of peace in the bible (torah) ?
Being at peace is a state of consciousness in which the person thinks and feels completeness, soundness, welfare, he or she is in good health and has prosperity also live in tranquility.
According to the meaning of the hebrew word Shalom is peace (שָׁלוֹם) and it refers to:
- completeness, soundness, welfare, peace
- safety, soundness (in body)
- welfare, health, prosperity
- peace, quiet, tranquillity, contentment
- peace, friendship
Some Verses in bible to explain peace (shalom):
וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֥ם כֹּ֖ה לֶחָ֑י וְאַתָּ֤ה שָׁלוֹם֙ וּבֵיתְךָ֣ שָׁל֔וֹם וְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־לְךָ֖ שָׁלֽוֹם׃
Say as follows: ‘To life! Greetings to you and to your household and to all that is yours!
In the verse above, shalom wich means peace is used to say greetings three times in that verse.
Genesis 37:14
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ לֶךְ־נָ֨א רְאֵ֜ה אֶת־שְׁל֤וֹם אַחֶ֙יךָ֙ וְאֶת־שְׁל֣וֹם הַצֹּ֔אן וַהֲשִׁבֵ֖נִי דָּבָ֑ר וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֙הוּ֙ מֵעֵ֣מֶק חֶבְר֔וֹן וַיָּבֹ֖א שְׁכֶֽמָה׃

In the verse above, shalom refers to welfare of Joseph´s brothers and their flock.
Proverbs 3:17דְּרָכֶ֥יהָ דַרְכֵי־נֹ֑עַם וְֽכָל־נְתִ֖יבוֹתֶ֣יהָ שָׁלֽוֹם׃
Her ways are pleasant ways, And all her paths, peaceful.
